Inspect, select, battle, review

Location and floor commands show where you can travel. Clear the required earlier encounters to unlock later progression. Ordinary floor battles use your selected card, so inspect that card before trying a new floor.

Begin with a single battle. Check whether your card survived, whether the element matchup was useful and whether the talent helped against this opponent. Repeating a losing setup spends resources without addressing the reason for the loss.

Turn a loss into a specific decision

If your card is defeated before it can contribute, review survivability and the matchup. If it survives but cannot finish the opponent, inspect its level, talent and offensive role. Check the enemy description and battle result instead of choosing solely by rarity.

Use elements and talents as references. Change one part of the setup at a time so you can tell whether a different card, upgrade or matchup actually helped. Keep a note of successful choices for later visits.

Repeat battles and try later challenges

Repeated battle amounts can be useful once an encounter is reliable. Check stamina, available amounts and the bot's restrictions first. A batch is not a promise that a difficult setup will become consistent.

Summit Trials require the appropriate late-game progression. Use sg trialfloor to inspect the next guardian and modifier before sg trial. Stage events and redemptions have their own availability: inspect sg event before planning around a reward.

Agree on custom battles first

A single-card challenge and a team challenge require different preparation. For custom rules, inspect the shared ruleset code and have both players agree to it. Custom battle settings do not rewrite your ordinary progression rules.

Gold bets are optional. Leave them out while learning a matchup, and confirm any wager with the other player before accepting. Inspect the current default ruleset so an old saved choice does not surprise you.
